Start a video

1. On Your projects, click New project and choose Social media short.
2. Under What do you want to create?, pick the purpose: Explainer / how-to, Story, Ad / Promo, Top list, Film teaser, Behind the scenes or Something else. For an Ad / Promo you can also pick a Brand kit.
3. Describe it in Your idea: a sentence or two is enough.
4. Choose the Orientation: Vertical 9:16 (Reels, Shorts, WhatsApp, TikTok) or Landscape 16:9 (YouTube, websites, TV).
5. Pick a Visual style and a Video length (15 seconds to 5 minutes).
6. Choose Normal or Movie under Style of video. Each card shows about how many credits that length will use.
7. Pick the narration Language, or None for on-screen text with music.
8. Click Start creating.

Your studio

Every video is made in six steps, shown at the top: 1 Idea · 2 World · 3 Scenes · 4 Animate · 5 Sound · 6 Video. A ✓ marks each step you've finished, ▶ Preview plays the video so far, and Next → at the bottom of each step takes you on. Your credits used and balance show beside the title.

To rename a video, click its title. On Your projects, each project’s ⋯ menu has Rename, Duplicate (a copy to try ideas on) and Delete project, which deletes everything in it and can’t be undone.

On the free Starter plan, videos are up to 1 minute and in Normal mode. Longer videos and Movie mode are on Pro and Studio.
