Blocking

Study each storyboard frame: depth, shapes and the lines that lead the eye.

Blocking is a worksheet for each storyboard frame, to plan how the picture is built. It doesn't use AI or credits.

  1. In the scene, click Blocking in the left menu.
  2. Pick a frame on the left.
  3. Under Space, choose how depth is structured (Deep, Flat, Shallow or Stacked) and drop up to three pins for foreground, midground and background.
  4. Under Shapes and Lines, mark each one as present (✓), considered but not present (⊘), or not considered (—). For ✓, click Mark on image and click the points on the picture.
  5. Write the frame's intent in Director's note.
